I think the darker skin color worked out well. Most importantly, my experimental neck support is working wonderfully! I'm already working on a another doll, so I can photograph them together for the pattern photos. I was going to make one with the lighter skin tone to go with her, but when you put the two together, the other color looks sickly white, so I think I'll stick with tan for now.
For those of you interested in the pattern, it's currently in the works and should be completed soon. I'm considering submitting it to knitpicks.com, so if they decide to take it, it might take a little longer for me to get it released. Either way, it should be ready in plenty of time to knit some up as Christmas gifts if you know anyone who would like to wake up to a mermaid on Christmas morning. This pattern knits up quickly, and it's 100% seamless, so there's nothing to assemble at the end. I also plan to sell some completed dolls in my Etsy store once the pattern is available.
Be sure to check out Tami's Amis for more FO Friday fun!

She looks great :) Love the colour of the tail and I'm imaging them in all different skin tones :)
She's wonderful!
Fantastic. I love the darker skin tone---it looks great with both the hair and the tail, and I'm still lovin' the nose, it makes her face even friendlier. I wish I could knit, I'd be all over making one of these.
she is lovely! my Daughter would fall in love with her!
She's absolutely lovely, any little girl (and quite a lot of big girls) would love her.
She is brilliant! I am loving her, I think my niece would love her too so I'll probably have to give her a go!
What a lovely little mermaid.
